Double the Gloucester, double the fun. This cheese is less acidic and has a smoother texture than it's counterpart, Appleby's Cheshire. For all our talk of being modern, a large part of cheesegeek relies on traditional methods and hand-me-down recipes such as this clothbound cheese. A 300 year old recipe, revived by the Appleby family in 1986, when we taste this double gloucester, we're reminded of warm buttered toast with a tangy fruity finish.

Delivery is FREE and it comes in a climate control box (the only in the industry) that comes with a 48 hour freshness guarantee. If that wasn't enough, we also add an insert that will talk you through the info on the cheeses, tasting notes and a scorecard to help you make the very most of your festive cheesegeek delivery.

During checkout, you will be able to select your preferred delivery date. This is great if you're buying as a gift or are organising your cheese in advance. The cheese will be packed in chilled, insulated boxes (that look great!) and will always be prepared on the day it is dispatched. A few other handy pointers:

- We use DHL nationwide and Packfleet within the M25

- Please use the delivery date you have selected as a guide rather than a guarantee.

- Your cheese will arrive in the best condition. It will have been prepared freshly and will not have been with our courier beyond our maximum of 48hrs

- You will receive delivery notifications for when your order is dispatched that mean you can track when it’s in transit

If you aren’t in for your delivery, this won’t matter. Our couriers will leave your cheese in you designated safe place in our climate controlled packaging.

We’re a small business working with an (incredible) perishable product. For advice on delivery or any cheesy questions, get in touch via the live chat or on hello@thecheesegeek.com

Meet the Maker

Producers of the LAST farmhouse Cheshire in England, the Appleby family have been lovingly making their clothbound, raw milk cheese since 1952...over 3 generations! They have played a major role in reviving the British territorial cheese scene and are still smashing it today.
