From the heart of Gouda territory in the Netherlands, this is what all good Gouda should taste like. Aged for 18 months, which Gouda should be to give it time to develop that amazing flavour. It is rich, salted caramel sweet, and has a texture almost like fudge. To really add to the situation, it also has an amazing crunch which just adds to the salted caramel vibe. This is one of our classic cheeses at cheesegeek, a real champion!

During checkout, you will be able to select your preferred delivery date. This is great if you're buying as a gift or are organising your cheese in advance. The cheese will be packed in chilled, insulated boxes (that look great!) and will always be prepared on the day it is dispatched. A few other handy pointers:

- We use DHL nationwide and Packfleet within the M25

- Please use the delivery date you have selected as a guide rather than a guarantee.

- Your cheese will arrive in the best condition. It will have been prepared freshly and will not have been with our courier beyond our maximum of 48hrs

- You will receive delivery notifications for when your order is dispatched that mean you can track when it’s in transit

If you aren’t in for your delivery, this won’t matter. Our couriers will leave your cheese in you designated safe place in our climate controlled packaging.

Meet the Maker

The Westland family established Old Amsterdam in 1936 in Gouda, South Holland making cheese using dutch meadow milk. It is still the largest privately owned branded cheese company in Holland. Nowadays the third generation is running the company, which is still 100% family-owned.
